Problem
At the University of Texas in Austin, TX, old carpeting was removed from the President's Office, revealing the original marble floor. The floor was covered in glue and had not been maintained for years. The surface of the stone was dull and scratched from dirt and grit that had settled under the carpet.
This floor was in very poor shape, as you can see in the BEFORE images.
Solution
We scraped the excess carpet glue and then performed a multi-step diamond grind and polish process, using state-of-the-art equipment and diamond encrusted abrasive pads in progressively finer grits.
Notice in the AFTER images how the original beauty is restored to this gorgeous marble floor. It's hard to believe anyone had ever thought to cover it with carpet.
We finished the job by applying a penetrating sealer to inhibit staining.
