Saltillo floor needed professional attention
Homeowners should be careful about hiring a company to clean, restore, and seal saltillo. Unlike other tile, saltillo is highly porous, and has to be approached differently than other surfaces. This saltillo floor was in desperate need of professional attention, as you can see in the first image. Coatings on saltillo have a tendency to trap dirt or wear off in higher traffic areas, giving the floor a dirty, splotchy appearance. This floor had layer upon layer of coatings.
Our safe and effective approach
Our saltillo cleaning and restoration methods involve stripping away everything stuck to the tile to reveal the bare, natural beauty of the saltillo itself. We methodically apply the appropriate chemicals to safely and effectively remove all coatings, such as polyurithane, epoxy and acrylics. It takes time and patience, but the results are fantastic, as you can see in the second image. Our final step was to seal the floor to inhibit the absorption of future stains.
